Today the festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated across the country. Janmashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Bhado month. This year people have been very confused about the date of Janmashtami. Let us tell you that according to Dev Astrologer and Mahant Ashwani Pandey of Mahadevi Kali Temple, Mandakini Beach, Ashtami Tithi has started on 6th September i.e. today at 3:39 pm, which will remain till 4:16 pm on 7th September. That means there will be a coincidence of Ashtami Tithi and Rohini Nakshatra on the night of 6th September. Therefore, people of Shaiva tradition will celebrate Krishna’s birth anniversary today and in Vaishnav sect, Janmashtami will be celebrated on 7th September. The festival of Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated as the incarnation day festival of Shri Krishna and his child form is worshiped on this day.
